Comedian Nikki Glaser recently revealed why her dress needed an ’emergency’ adjustment before the Vanity Fair Oscars party. The 40-year-old star attended the glitzy event held after the Academy Awards on Sunday night in a black lace gown designed by Waldrin Sahiti and matching heels. However, she confessed on the red carpet that the look wasn’t exactly easy for her to pull off.
When Glaser was asked to share the secret behind the dress in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she gave a surprising answer: “It was a different size a few hours ago!” She further revealed that she had the dress fitted a month ago, but due to eating too much skinny pop recently, her body had changed, which necessitated adjustments in the dress.

Nikki Glaser joked about eating too much popcorn on the road while working, but she also revealed that her team had to make emergency alterations to her dress.
“They had to bring in a sewing machine and take out part of the train to widen the dress,” Glaser said, referring to the waist of her dress. She was glad that the alterations made her feel comfortable and confident at the party.
In addition, Golden Globes 2024 host Nikki Glaser also paid special tribute to Oscar host Conan O’Brien.
“He’s the biggest reason I do comedy. He’s my favorite person, and I’m so excited to see him live. I can’t believe it!” Glaser said. He praised Conan’s amazing hosting skills, calling him a “national treasure”.

This is not the first time Nikki Glaser has suffered a wardrobe malfunction before a red carpet event. A similar incident happened to her during Golden Globes 2024 as well.
While getting ready for the awards ceremony in January, Glaser shared a fun video of her lip-syncing to Taylor Swift’s song “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?”. In the video, the top of her gold, strapless dress suddenly slipped off while she was walking down the red carpet, but Glaser took it in stride and continued to lip-sync with gusto.
She handled the wardrobe fail in her own way—covering her exposed nipple with the word “Oops” written in a black box. The hilarious text remains visible on her chest in several parts of the video, in which she pretends to fall in the hallway and looks playfully at the camera.
